How fixture installation works.

  1. Tell us what you have

One faucet or a whole bathroom. Already bought the fixture? Customer-supplied fixtures are installed - you shop, Steve installs. He can supply it instead if you would rather.

  2. Quoted flat-rate

The price covers the installation, the supply connections and testing. If the existing valves or connections are a problem, you are told and it is quoted separately - before it is done, not after.

  3. Installed and tested

Fixture set, supply and drain connected, everything tested for leaks and correct operation before Steve leaves.

  4. Backed by a warranty

Labour is warrantied like every Serpa job, so a fixture that was installed right stays right.

The homeowner's guide

Fixtures look simple. The plumbing behind them is not.

A new faucet looks like a straightforward swap - until the connections do not match, the supply lines are corroded, or the shut-off valve crumbles when you try to turn it. That is the moment a twenty-minute job becomes a flooded vanity. Professional installation means the fixture works correctly from day one, the connections are tight, and the warranty behind the work is real.

Everything we install

One faucet or a whole bathroom - if it connects to water or drainage, it is regular Serpa work:

  • Kitchen faucets and sinks, including undermount and farmhouse
  • Bathroom faucets and sinks
  • Toilets - standard, comfort height, dual flush, and wall-mounted
  • Shower valves and trim kits
  • Bathtub faucets and tub/shower combinations
  • Laundry tubs and utility sinks
  • Garbage disposals
  • Outdoor hose bibs and frost-free sillcocks
  • Supply line and shut-off valve upgrades

You shop, we install

Already bought the fixture? We install customer-supplied fixtures as standard - you choose what you like, Steve makes it work. Or he can supply the fixture if you would rather have one company responsible for both.

Either way the installation is done right the first time: the fixture set level, supply and drain connected, everything tested for leaks and correct operation before he leaves. No calling someone in three months to redo a DIY job.

One caution worth hearing before you shop: some fixtures need a different rough-in than the one behind your wall. Wall-hung toilets need an in-wall carrier, freestanding tub fillers need floor-mounted supply, and some shower sets need a deeper valve. Send Steve the model before you buy and he will tell you what it takes - before it is sitting in your hallway.

When a simple swap is not simple

Most fixture calls start the same way: it looked easy on the video. These are the signs the job needs a plumber rather than a second attempt:

  • The shut-off valve will not turn, weeps, or crumbles when touched
  • Supply lines are corroded or non-standard sizes
  • A toilet that rocks, or a wax seal that keeps failing
  • Water pressure dropped after a DIY install
  • A drip inside the vanity or wall you cannot trace
  • No shut-off valves at the fixture at all - common in older homes

What the flat rate covers

The price covers the installation, the supply-line connections, and testing. Older homes often hide a complication - seized valves, corroded supply lines, non-standard connections. If we find one, you are told what it needs and it is quoted before the extra work is done, not billed after. Upgrading tired shut-off valves while the fixture is out is usually the cheapest insurance in the house.

Replacing fixtures as part of a larger project? That is renovation plumbing - same standards, coordinated with your contractor.
